ASA National Umpring Clinic

So over this passed weekend, I went to a National Umpiring clinic. It was my first time. I had so much fun while, learning so many new things that personally I beleived them to be true. I learned so much about the mechinics and fundamentals of the game, and that this weekend be a guide to where I began. I had a blast being there, I met and seen one hundrend plus people over the weekend, in a work related training event, in the blistering cold. ok it wasnt that cold, but cold enough. After this weekend, I have a long week of umpiring gigs and games. Thanks everyone for being there and supporting.

The power to change the world ..

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations." Matthew 28:19

All the training in the world will only limited success if you do not turn you people loose to do the job. The way to do that is to give them responsibility, authority, and accountability.
For some people, responsibility is the easiest to give. But what is difficult for some leaders is allowing their people to keep the responsibility after its been given. Poor managers want to control every detail of their people's work. When that happens, the potential leaders who work for them become frustrated and do not develop. Rather than desiring more responsibility, they become indifferent or avoid responsibility altogether.
With responsibility must go authority. Winston Churchill said in an address, "I am your servant. You have the right to dismiss me when you please. What you have no right to do is ask me to bear responsibility without the power of action." Once responsibility and authority have been given to people, they become empowered to make things happen. But we also have to be sure that they are making the right things happen. That is where accountability come into the picture.
-- Developing the Leaders Around You, John Maxwell

Do you struggle in giving responsibility, authority, or accountability to others?

1 CORINTHIANS 6:20

FOR GOD BOUGHT YOU WITH A HIGH PRICE. SO YOU MUST HONOR GOD WITH YOUR BODY!

Paul Condemns Spiritual Pride
I can hardly believe that report about the sexual immorality going on among you, something so evil that even the pagans don't do it. I am told that you have a man in your church who is living in sin with his father's wife. And you are so proud of yourselves! Why aren't you mourning in sorrow and shame? And why haven't you removed this man from your fellowship?

(3)Even though I am not there with you in person, I am with you in the Spirit. Concerning the one who has done this, I have already passed judgement in the name of the Lord Jesus. You are to call a meeting of the church, and I will be there in spirit, and the power of the Lord Jesus will be with you as you meet. Then you must cast this man out of the church and into Satan's hands, so that his sinful nature will be destroyed and he himself will be saved when the Lord returns.

(6)How terrible that you should boast about your spirituality, and yet you let this sort of thing go on. Don't you realize that if even one person is allowed to go on sinning, soon all will be affected" Remove this wicked person from among you so that you can stay pure. Christ, our passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us. So let us celebrate the festival, not by eating the old beard of wickedness and evil, but by eating the new bread of purity and truth.

(9) When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin. But I wasn't talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or who are greedy or are swindlers or idol worshipers. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that. What I meant was that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a Christian yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or a drunkard, or a swindler. Don't even eat with such people.

(12) It is not my responsibility to judge those outsiders, but it certainly is your job to judge those inside the church who are sinning in these ways. God will judge those on the outside; but as the scriptures say, "You must remove the evil person from among you".

Loving thursdays...

I dislike going to the denist. I also dislike waking up super early. I dislike waking up super early having to go to the denist. I need prayers. My mouth hurts. I have an root canal infection on one side, and a cavity on the nerve on the other. not good for either side. The denist also tells me to advise at least 48-72 hours after procedure I should be able to return to any and all physical activity. Im so bummed. I consider it bad enough that i have to take rest days with the opens so close, now I have to take more time away due to an oral infection, and a cavity. NOT COOL! Well, I remain in upper spirits. My tooth still hurts from the work they did this morning, but I should remain strong, and persistant with my training untill told otherwise. Thank you for your prayers.

Until next time .. I choose GOD!

James 1..

So i have been posting a few quotes and passages from my devotional that the Lord wants me to share. And now, I feel compelled to not follow suit, but to post a section straight from James chapter 1.

Faith and Endurance
Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.(5) If you need wisdom - if you want to know what God wants you to do - ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking. But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. People like that should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. They can not make up their minds. The waver back and forth in everything the do.(9) Christians who are poor should be glad for God has honored them. And those who are rich should be glad, for God has humbled them. They will fade away like a flower in the field. The hot sun rises and dries up the grass;the flower withers, and its beauty fades away. So also, wealthy people will fade away with all of their achievements. (12) God blesses the people who patiently endure testing. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. And remember, no one who wants to do wrong should ever say, "God is tempting me." God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else either. Temptation comes from the lure of our own evil desires. These evil desires lead to evil actions, and evil actions lead to death. So do not be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. (17) Whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God above, who created all heaven's lights. Unlike them, he never changes of casts shifting shadows. In his goodness he chose to make us his own children by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his choice possession.

When reading a few days past in my devotional, i seen the passage of James 1:2 and with bible close in hand, flipping to the page where all this above laid. I read, and was lifted and spiritally changed. Its funny, simply, for I was having a conversation not to long ago with a friend of mine, who was telling me similar things. I wish not to discuss much more detail other than i felt that it related to the above passage. I still have yet to comprehend the whole thing, as it is still processing. I felt compelled to share the first part of chapter one in the book of James.

Untill next time .. I choose GOD!

3 times today..

So after a healthy breakfast, of turkey, eggs, an orange, and coffee. I was off to the gym. Three times today I worked out. After our twenty minutes of warm up, we, the gym, started the "Cindy" Workout. Consisting of, 20 minutes, of 5 pull ups, 10 push ups, and 15 air Squats. Keep in mind, I was in the top percent-tile scoring 22rounds plus 5 pull ups. My body felt wrecked, as it still does now. Fourty minutes of rest, I challenged my gym owner to a second workout. Considering he would have the advantage since he has yet to workout today, and I would be there for a while, completing my three workouts. The challenge was an easy 10 minute workout. In the duo of exercises and reps consisting of double unders and a squat clean to thruster in the rep set of 50-10-40-8-30-6-20-4-10-2. Sounds brutal, but not really. 150 double unders, 30 squat clean thrusters at the weight of 95#. Not to bash the leader, I did however score a faster time then his by 30 or so seconds. :) Yeah, go ME!!

My two hour nap was restful enough to give me just enough energy for one more 10 minute self workout. So, with a clock counting down from ten minutes, these task must be completed before the time runs out. 1-800meter run then with the remaining time complete as many rounds as possible of 5 deadlifts @ 275#/185#, 6 lateral burpees over your deadlifting bar, and 10 kettle bell swings at an RXd weight of 53# for guys and 35# for females. This workout was the second of five at the "throw down in Motown" competition over the weekend. If I remember correctly, I believe no one completed any part of a sixth round. Not trailing far behind with a completed four rounds, I still have much work to do if I wish to compete in the Crossfit Games this Summer!!

Growth = Change

Romans 12:2 says, "Do not copy the the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is".

I share this with you for it is the truth. Growth requires change. Without change, there is no growth. Personally, I believe in myself so much, all I wish is to change. Not for the worse but for the better. I wish not to conform to these worldly ideas but those of the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ, and his Diciples. Most of us know that change is inevitable. Everybody has to deal with it in their lives. On the other hand, growth is optional, the eaiser path, the road less traveled. You can choose to grow or to fight it. But know this: People unwilling to grow will never reach their potential. Again, growth requires change.

Most people celebrate when they recieve their diploma or degree and say to themselves, "Thank goodness that's over. I'm done with studying". But that kind of thinking doesn't take you any higher than average. Before letting you go, I wish to ask you these two questions. How are you resisting growth in your own life? How can you dedicate yourself to it?

I choose you Lord!

Fueling the Animal..

Monday night - 4 slices of greasy pepperoni pizza from pizza blast. Can not lie, it tasted awesome.

Tuesday morning - 1 1/2 serving of Quakers Oatmeal. Lunch, I had the Clubhouse Special from Togo's eatery. finally for dinner .. I ate at La Pearl Mexican Restaurant, eating two taco truck style tacos, asada, salsa, and onions.

Wednesday morning i treated myself to breakfast in the kitchen. I made 2 eggs over medium with about a 1/2cup of Kate's Taco Chili. 1130ish, I followed a workout with a Progenix recovery protein shake. 2pm-ish, I ate again. This time devouring a large serving of Teriyaki Chicken and rice with a few veggies. 4 hours later, entering a time I was feeling the urge for more fuel, I turned to an Anabolic Recovery Matrix powder protein Shake of the lemon Lime flavor. (mighty tasty, when the right amount of water is added) Along with a Peanut Butter Power Bar

Thursday morning, I started it with a 3 egg scramble, adding 2oz of sliced deli turkey, including a small orange, half of a banana, and 12 almonds. Adding to the delicious Chili, that Kate made, extra lean turkey, corn, beans, chipolte seasoning, and mustard. (absolutely amazing). Finishing the evening with a quart of Sunny side Chocolate Milk.

Finally, Friday morning, i treated myself to 2 servings of Coco Puffs with 2% milk. Post workout, one medium sized orange, and an MAX ARM protein shake. one single pint of chocolate milk, and a protein bar. Mid-day snack, Peanut Butter and Grape Jelly, with turkey and two microwaved eggs in a sandwich. Differences that make a difference..

Moreover David said, "The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from th paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine". - 1Samuel 17:37

Consider David in his batle with Goliath. Why was he able to stand against the giant when the army of Israel pulled back in fear? Here's how David did it:

1. His perspective differed from others. He say an opportunity.
2. His methods differed from others. He decided to use proven wrapons that he would work.
3. His conviction differed from others. He heard Goliath's threats against the God of Isreal and knew God could beat him.
4. His vision differed from others. He wanted to make Yahweh known to the world as the most powerful God on earth.
5. His experience differed from others. He brought to the battlefield past victories over a lion and bear, not months of paralyzing fear.
6. His attitude differed from others. He saw Goliath not as a threat too big to hit, but a target to big to miss.

Do you stand firm in your differences or go along with the crowd?

Facing the Crowd...

So its been awhile since ive posted on this blog. I want to not get away from staying true to myself and as well as to those whom read these posts. This is the time for me, to learn how to follow God. Ensuring my faith as strong as it can possibly be for myself, and to learn how to persue my dreams. My dream is to know God, and win the Crossfit Games. nothing too exciting but the 1st is the greatest of all. So over the next few months i will do my best to post nightly, keeping a weekly log of food and workouts. Perhaps videos, and pictures will help tell the story. I thank you in advance for your encouragement and opposition. :)
